Close to one year, since after the approval by the Seminary board of Bigard Memorial Seminary Enugu, preparations are being made to make this Lonergan Center a reality and first of its kind in Nigeria. To the glory of God, this has finally become a reality. Bigard Lonergan Center will be officially inaugurated on 29th April 2023 and commissioned by Most Rev Ernest A. Obodo, The Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu Diocese.
The inaugural event will run through 28th to 30th April 2023 with series of presentations on Bernard lonergan’s thoughts and legacies, by Lonergan scholars and professors from Marquette University, Wisconsin, USA; Gregorian University, Rome; University of Dayton, USA; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu. Both physical and virtual presentations are involved.
With this official inauguration and conference, This Center aims to spur young minds into research on Bernard Lonergan’s postulations and humanities in general and also aid to practicalize research products from these areas in our contemporary society.
